Don't Trash Your Grocery Budget!: Simple Ways to Reduce Food Waste In-Person
Join the discussion about making the most of the food that you buy. Learn easy tips to stretch your groceries, plan your meals, store food so it lasts longer, and the best way to discard food scraps and leftovers you can’t finish. We’ll hear from:
-
Impact Earth about the benefits of composting organics,
-
Heather Sherner (FCSD FACS Educator) about encouraging students to get excited to grow and prepare food and develop healthy habits, and
-
Michelle Weiler (CCE SNAP Educator) about meal planning, organizing your fridge and stretching your budget.
There will be a question and answer period and lots of opportunity to learn some new strategies about preventing food waste.
This program is a collaboration between Color Fairport Green and the Fairport Public Library.
